Shamrock Marathon Fun Mile

Nicholas participated in the Shamrock Marathon Fun Mile today along with other classmates from New Castle Elementary. Starting in January, Nick ran 25.2 miles total and completed his marathon at the race - where the children participating ran their final mile down Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach. Nick has fallen in love with running and he's pretty fast too. When Dennis was in town they ran 3 miles together two days in a row. Nick was able to run 3 miles without stopping! Today he ran his final mile in front of the crowds and finished it in 9 minutes and 11 seconds. He was an early finisher in his heat. I was so proud of him. It was a great day - although it was very cold - only about 40 degrees tops! We warmed up with some yummy pizza afterward. He's already told me he wants to do it again next year and each weekend he asks if he can go running!
